It's mind boggling to me that in a few wks, I will be done with my first quarter of school and it continues to boggle my mind that on Sept. 11, I will have been a LPN for seven years! Wow...eight years ago, I was getting ready to start PN school.
PN school was tough. It was emotionally, mentally, and physically draining for me. I made some good friends and some bad enemies, but all in all there are only a few things I would have changed.
RN school is ALOT different. I find myself struggling with the material alot more and getting out of the "report it to the RN" mode and into the Assessing/Planning/Evaluation/Teaching aspect of nursing. Patho is giving me a hard time and just not overthinking or over studying.
Studying with a two year old is fun too...
I have made it no secret that I plan to roll into the BSN program after graduation next May and then forward on to take the NP program from Wright State University...It's a goal.
But for now, I have my eyes on that RN goal...

Pain the the butt r/t two hyper kids as evidenced by the screaming coming from my bedroom as well as the 2,000,000 showing of Shrek this wk.
The subjects will be able to take a nap w/i the next 2 hours or I will physically drug them so I can get something done!
*sigh*
I have been a nurse for a long time and I have run the gauntlet of

I had my wisdom teeth out on 6/25 and it wasn't bad. They gased me, numbed me and 10 minutes later I was walking out of there with a jaw full of gauze and in a slight haze.
The AFTER (like the last week) had SUCKED! I seriously thought that I was gonna need a morphine drip!
I convinced myself, through the wonder worldwide web, that I had dry socket...I was in agony. I made it to the dentist, with the assistance of my wonderful hubby, to find out that they forgot to give me a syringe with a little hooky squirty thingy on it so I could irrigate the gapping hole in my jaw, so developed a little...compost heap if you will, of food particles in my gapping hole!
Now noone like a stinky gapping hole...esp one in their mouths, so I have been all about squirting out that sucker after I eat. Its still sore...
School starts back in a day or so. I get to do my LPN to RN transition class now, which I failed online 4 years back. Hopefully I will do a little better this time around. This class makes me feel stupid though.
